Altec Releases doc-linkTM 3.1, Connecting Documents, Data and Processes Anywhere, Anytime to Support a Mobile Workforce

The latest version of the market-leading integrated document management and workflow solution will feature major enhancements that streamline business processes, drive operational efficiency and improve the user experience.

Laguna Hills, CA — September 17, 2015 — Altec Products, Inc., the leader in document management and workflow solutions, announced their release of doc-link 3.1 today – globally available through their channel of exclusive alliance partners, ERP consultants and software resellers. Designed with three major themes in mind – Mobility, Usability and Cloud – doc-link 3.1 provides exciting new options for accessing and working with business-critical documents to support a growing mobile workforce through document capture, collaboration and distribution enhancements; enriched web and mobile experiences; enhanced automation options and deployment improvements.

“We are committed to enhancing the functional depth and breadth of doc-link. Version 3.1 helps our customers manage the lifecycle of their complex documents to enhance productivity, collaboration and communication. It starts with the capture of documents, and this release introduces new options to streamline and simplify that process,” states Merri Jo Cleair, Director of Product Management. “The continuous feedback we received from our customers and partners during this release cycle significantly improved the usability and quality of this release.”

Customers will also benefit from improvements in key areas including those made to Output Manager, doc-link Web, doc-link Mobile, Smart Client, Notes, Import Manager, Event and Data Manager and Additional User and Administrator capabilities.

“As long-time doc-link users, we were excited to participate in the 3.1 controlled release program. Altec’s Development and Support teams coordinated with us to prepare our system for 3.1; the preliminary set-up and on-site support was outstanding and made for a seamless upgrade. We have seen improved functionality which has already delivered positive impact, granting us more visibility and control in our business processes,” stated Bill Mitchell, CFO at Damuth Trane.

doc-link 3.1’s version control capability improves visibility, breaks down silos of data – common inside organizations of all sizes – and provides new collaborative opportunities to optimize additional business processes throughout the organization. Additionally, user feedback has driven revisions to Output Manager, Altec’s document and data distribution module, which now provides more ways than before to automate communications with business partners such as configuring multiple data conditions to specify document distribution methods and triggers. Other improvements in doc-link 3.1 support improved ERP integration and the seamless integrations into other mission-critical business systems that are part of the business document lifecycle.

“We’re very excited about the 3.1 release of doc-link,” said Bill Harris, CEO, MicroAccounting, a value added reseller with principal offices in Dallas and Chicago. “Our customers quickly see the benefit from the focus on improved collaboration, document versioning and minimizing data entry which improves accuracy and saves time.”
