What did you do before landing at DocLink?

I’ve been in the enterprise content management industry for about 25 years now. I started in distribution, where I worked for a value-added distributor focused on scanner speeds and feeds. In 2006 I joined a global technology company that focused on OCR engine software but also had other application products like smart capture OCR. There, I was responsible for expanding their channel of partners, and after five years, I was promoted to Sr. Business Development Manager, selling software development toolkits to system integrators and independent software vendors.

Most recently, I was at a Swiss workflow company which was exciting! I got a chance to work with very high-level workflow solutions on a global scale.

What made you want to go into sales?

I got recruited into sales out of UCLA! Little did I know at that time that a career in sales was where I was supposed to be! I found that I really enjoyed conversing with people, asking them questions, and being an attentive listener – all of which have proven to be valuable skills in sales that have contributed to my success. You’ve got to listen and understand their problems to deliver the right fix.

What attracted you to DocLink by Beyond Limits?

One day, a recruiter called me and suggested that I would be a perfect fit for the company, and I remembered my past experiences with the company while working at a global tech company in 2007. During that time, we were trying to develop a relationship with DocLink by Beyond Limits, so I’ve been in the Laguna Hills office many times! I’ve only heard great things about the company from others in the industry, which further fueled my interest in joining the company.

What do you like most about your career?

Definitely the interaction with people. Every deal is unique, and it presents a different problem that needs to be solved with a solution that meets their specific needs. Through conversations, I can discover more pain points that usually lead to solving more problems than they initially came to me with, and I enjoy being able to solve those problems!

What are your responsibilities at DocLink by Beyond Limits?

I work closely with potential clients in the Northwest region to fully understand their needs and offer solutions to meet their specific business requirements. I also collaborate with internal teams to ensure that the implementation is seamless.

What do you like best about the company?

It’s absolutely the people. They’re all so friendly and welcoming. It’s nice to be part of a team where everyone is so supportive. The technology we sell is another reason, but the people make this a great place to work.

What’s the most interesting customer interaction you’ve had so far?

The most interesting so far was with a company involved in the beverage development. We took them to lunch, and I was amazed to see how many internal advocates they had for our software. It was reassuring to see that someone in charge of the software was confident enough to introduce it to different departments and spread the word about its benefits. The fact that they love DocLink made me feel proud of the work that we do here.

What do you like to do outside of work?

I am an avid horse rider and compete in show jumping competitions. I also love to travel and have visited six out of seven continents, with Antarctica being the only one left on my list.

What’s your favorite place to visit?

Such a hard question! I’d have to say that my favorite place is Turkey. I was fascinated by the clash of cultures that can be seen there, with remnants of the Moorish, Sultanate, and Western European influences all around. The food and spices are also amazing! I also love visiting Ireland because of the people’s rich storytelling culture. They have a way of giving directions that involves telling a story and sharing the history of the area, making it an unforgettable experience.
