Software Test Engineer

 

We are looking for a skilled Software Test Engineer to join our Quality Assurance team. As a Software Test Engineer, you will be responsible for evaluating software functions and designing test protocols to ensure products work as intended. You will also be responsible for completing all testing procedures, suggesting performance changes, writing defect reports in a clear and concise manner, and tracking defects through the defect cycle.

To ensure success as a Software Test Engineer, you should have knowledge of software design and engineering, a good eye for detail, and a natural gift for software troubleshooting. A skilled Software Test Engineer should be able to identify flaws in software designs and suggest effective fixes.

Responsibilities:

  • Meeting with development to discuss software specifications and use cases.
  • Using the software to analyze its functional properties.
  • Designing manual and automated test procedures to evaluate each software product.
  • Building, coding, and implementing software test programs.
  • Tweaking the software testing systems for maximum performance.
  • Assists in test planning and testing procedures.
  • Report test results and enter defects into the defect reporting system. Monitor and update defect reports as needed including defect closure.
  • Configure necessary hardware and operating environments as needed to complete assigned testing.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or similar field or equivalent experience.
  • Proven work experience as a Software Test Engineer.
  • In-depth knowledge of software testing tools. Experience with automated testing tools preferred.
  • Experience working with Windows operating systems.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Good understanding of software development life cycle.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to design and write complex software testing procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently to achieve desired results.

Due to COVID-19, all positions at Beyond Limits are currently remote. However, once our offices are fully reopened, most work is expected to be performed in-person at office in Tacoma, WA.
