Altec Wraps Up the Year with ITA Fall 2016

ITAFall2016

It’s hard to believe that 2016 is nearly over. Our years are always full of events large and small – and one that never fails to leave a lasting impression (or barrage of tweets) is the Information Technology Alliance (ITA) collaborative.

ITA Fall 2016 took place earlier this month at the M Resort Spa Casino in Las Vegas, NV. Altec brought a large team from our sales, marketing, product development, and professional services departments. This event, we were especially excited to have Director of Marketing April Blankenship represent Altec as a new addition to the Board of Directors! We also took advantage of ITA’s independent, member-led session agenda: April co-moderated a breakout session while Channel Program Manager Gabriela Morales served as co-facilitator in one and co-presenter in another.

Not only does ITA stand out with its member-led sessions but attendees actually make it a point to go to them. It’s true: we’ve all been to conferences with more folks in hallways than rooms, but at ITA events, content is so useful that we are truly eager to attend. ITA Fall 2016 boasted an impressive queue of general sessions too. CohnReznick Director of Economic Research Patrick O’Keefe kicked off the collaborative with an economic update and Avalara CTO Peter Horadan presented to a packed room on blockchain technology and its impact on the future of financial accounting. To see everything we learned about, view the full agenda here.

We of course enjoyed our time outside of sessions in the beautiful resort as well. It was a pleasure to spend time with fellow Independent Software Vendors (ISVs), the reseller partners we work with, and ERP publishers. The abridged version of our socializing includes a tour of the Hoover Dam, bustling dinners with new and old friends, and time spent in the casino.

As always, it was a memorable event and great way to end the year. Some joked that technology advances and economic trends may stifle those in our industry. Our takeaway is that we must continue to evolve our solutions and businesses – so it’s a good thing we have such bright friends and partners!
