Altec Adopts Families for the Holidays

Here at Altec, we love holidays, and December offers so many different occasions for celebrating with family and friends.  As a company, we are very fortunate – Altec continues to have significant success and growth – and so we naturally want to help others in this giving season.

We were recently introduced to Pio Pico Elementary School and The Boys & Girls Club in Santa Ana.  This community is one of the poorest in Orange County, and the children typically don’t receive much, if anything for Christmas.  We jumped at the chance to adopt five struggling families known as “Calderon’s Kids” named for Mr. Calderon, an indispensable community advocate for this neighborhood.  Our Altec staff had a great time shopping for clothes and toys for the kids ranging from ages 3 months to 14 years old.

Last week several of us from Altec got to play Santa, delivering the amazing presents we collected. The families were so grateful, and those who attended the Holiday Luncheon and Gift Exchange hosted by the school were so moved by their thanks.  It’s absolutely true what Booker T. Washington once said, “Those who are happiest are those who do the most for others.”

Happy Holidays!
