Implementation Methodology

Altec Professional Services provides a proven 5-phase methodology for implementing doc-link in organizations of all industries and sizes. The five phases include Estimation, Specification, Configuration, Installation and Stabilization.

  • Estimation: an integral part of our first interaction with you as we learn to evaluate your business issues and prepare estimations within your budget constraints. Altec will work with you to identify the key business and technical stakeholders that should be involved in the doc-link implementation project. We are committed to spending up front time to better understand your business so we can provide an optimal level of services that will best meet your needs and expectations.

  • Specification: ensures a complete understanding of your business process requirements, technical environment and proposed usage of doc-link prior to installing the system. A qualified business process analyst will work with your implementation team to understand your current business process. Once we are familiar with how your business operates today, we will define and document how the system will be configured specifically to meet your business needs and objectives using doc-link. We will also perform a comprehensive technical assessment of your IT environment in order to give you recommendations on how to create an optimal platform to support document imaging.

  • Configuration: commences once the specifications have been completed and approved. Altec's technical team will analyze each aspect of the specification and configure a system at Altec's facilities in order to prove out the specification. Once this initial configuration of doc-link is completed, Altec will demonstrate our progress to date using web collaboration technology to obtain additional configuration requests and changes from the Customer Implementation team.

  • Installation: begins by migrating the pre-configured doc-link implementation onto your production-ready equipment. We do this to test the viability of your newly-configured doc-link system in your production environment. Additional testing will be performed to ensure proper operation prior to going live. User and IT training will be performed to prepare your organization for the production roll-out of the doc-link system

  • Stabilization: the period following the installation of the doc-link system, is where Altec technical personnel that are familiar with your environment, people and configuration will be available to assist in follow-up training, last minute modifications and one-on-one support post live conversion. Once your organization is live with doc-link and users gain more comfort with the operation of the system, your account is formally transitioned to our Technical Support team for on-going assistance. As our team of doc-link Installers and the Technical Support personnel work together on a day-to-day basis, we are able to continually monitor you progress with doc-link and inform you of fixes and enhancements to the system on a timely basis. Our team is always available to assist you with upgrades, enhancements and changes to your system as the need arises.
