Doc-link 2.3 Minimum System Requirements

The following is a summary of the minimum recommended hardware and software requirements for the various doc-link components. Doc-link version 2.3 can run on hardware below the outlines suggested below, but is not supported by Altec.

Application server (COM+ Components)

• Windows Server 2003, Windows 2000 Server SP3

  • Windows Server 2003 with Application Server subcomponents “Enable Network COM+ Access” and “Enable Network DTC Access” options installed
• Intel Pentium IV 2 GHz or faster processor
• 1 GB RAM
• .Net Framework v 1.1

Database Server

• Windows Server 2003, Windows 2000 Server SP3
• SQL Server 2005, SQL Server 2000, If SQL is not detected MSDE will be installed
• Intel Pentium IV 2 GHz or faster processor
• 1 GB RAM or higher recommended
• Hard drive space requirements for the database vary depending on the number of documents you are storing and where you plan to store your documents. If you plan to store your documents in the file system, you will not require space for documents in the database. On average, you can estimate that a document will require 400 KB.

Services (Enterprise Report Management (ERM), Indexing, Output Manager and Barcode)

• Windows Server 2003, Windows 2000 Server SP3, Windows XP Pro, Windows 2000 Pro SP3

  • Windows XP not recommended for Barcode Service
• Intel Pentium IV 2 GHz or faster processor
• 1 GB RAM or higher recommended
• Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher
• WinFax Pro 10.0 or higher, RightFax 8.7 or higher, NetsatisFAXtion required for routing via Fax (must be purchased separately). Applicable for Output Manager only.
• Internet Information Services (IIS) 5.0 or higher, SMTP Service must be installed to route via email. Applicable for Output Manager only (SMTP Service must be configured to start automatically).

Doc-link Remote Server

• Windows Server 2003, Windows 2000 Server SP3
• Intel Pentium IV 2 GHz or faster processor
• 1 GB RAM or higher recommended
• Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher
• Internet Information Services (IIS) 5.0 or higher, ASP.Net and SMTP must be installed. Must be installed prior to .Net Framework v1.1 (SMTP Service must be configured to start automatically).
• .Net Framework v 1.1
• Connectivity to the doc-link DB and Image Store

Client Applications (doc-link Administrator, doc-link Client, doc-link Remote Client, Collator, Decollator, Workflow, Workflow Supervisor, Barcode Administrator)

• Windows XP Pro, Windows 2000 Pro SP3
• 1 GHz or faster processor
• 512 MB RAM
• 200 MB hard disk space to run the client
• Internet Explorer 6.0
• 17” or 19” monitor, dual monitor setup recommended for client installations designated for workflow entry.
• .Net Framework v 1.1

Scan-link Station

• Windows XP Pro, Windows 2000 Pro SP3
• 1 GHz or faster processor
• 512 MB RAM
• Minimum of 10 GB of available disk space for scanning
• 19” Monitor (recommended)
