INSIGHT INVESTMENTS SELECTS DOC-LINK™ INTEGRATED DOCUMENT
MANAGEMENT TO STREAMLINE ACCOUNTS PAYABLE, ACCOUNTS
RECEIVABLE, AND SALES ORDER PROCESSING DEPARTMENTS
Laguna Hills, Calif., September 3, 2004 - Altec, a leading provider of document imaging and workflow management solutions for mid-market, announced today that Insight Investments has chosen doc-link to automate their accounts payable, accounts receivable, and sales order processing departments. Insight Investments was founded in 1987 with an initiative to buy and sell pre-owned IT equipment. Insight Investments decided to transition to a paperless environment using doc-link, which has a non-invasive, seamless integration to their Great Plains accounting solution. Manual paper processing at Insight Investments will practically be eliminated as a result of the doc-link configuration they opted to implement. The fax-link module was selected to send a document to a predetermined folder, based on the incoming fax number, where it can then be processed into workflow – eliminating wasted time through manual routing. The accounting department will no longer spend time manually researching documents, or searching for lost or misfiled documents.
Documents will now be scanned at Insight Investment’s remote locations then routed to the corporate office, and indexed into doc-link where the batch can be completely processed electronically. The Event Manager module purchased by Insight Investments will send email notification to the approvers advising them when time-sensitive documents are in their queue awaiting review or approval while improving cycle time. With the utilization of doc-link’s Remote Client module, all documents can be accessed through a secure web login, where users can view, save, print, or email as attachments and download documents from the image repository.. This functionality will save both the accounting and sales order processing departments’ time, and increase customer satisfaction because of the quick and easy access to documentation.
The doc-link modules selected by Insight Investments will increase customer satisfaction, increase employee productivity, eliminate lost or misplaced files, and increase cycle time in accounting. As result of these savings, Insight Investments looks forward to experiencing a return on investment in less than six months. Insight Investments is also considering the implementation of doc-link into their Human Resources, Payroll, and Leasing departments to extend their savings even further.
