ALTEC RELEASES doc-link™ 2.5 - INTEGRATED DOCUMENT
MANAGEMENT SOFTWARE WITH ENHANCED FEATURES AND CAPABILITIES
LAGUNA
HILLS, Calif., June 19, 2007 - Altec, a leading
provider of accounting-centric Integrated Document Management solutions,
today announced the release of doc-link version 2.5. The
company's flagship product, doc-link provides seamless
integration to popular mid-market financial accounting packages
and allows for paperless processing of accounts payable, accounts
receivable, sales order processing and other accounting and non-accounting
enterprise applications.
This release provides doc-link users
with enhanced capabilities that range from new search features and
the support of color documents, to seamless integration between the
document management system and MS Office 2003 and 2007. This interoperability
with MS Office allows users to index documents into doc-link directly
from Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Also new is an XML Import Service for
indexing documents. A flexible tool, the service works with any file
format or business process, and can be used to import XML data from
an OCR package or other business system. The service is already
configured to import OCR data from Kofax, ABBYY and Cardiff OCR packages.
With the new version of doc-link,
users gain the ability to scan and index color TIFs, use ERM capture
for color documents, place color templates on ERM documents, route
a color TIF using Output Manager, and view and annotate color TIFs
in the doc-link viewers.
Mark Tague, Altec's Chief Technology
Officer, says, “the enhancements included with version 2.5
are a culmination of the feedback, requests and observations garnered
from our doc-link customers. Our customer-centric
philosophy enables us to stay ahead of the market in offering all doc-link users
the benefit of continuous and timely improvements.”
In addition, doc-link now
integrates with Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP), a networking
protocol for querying and modifying directory services. Utilized
by network directory services like Active Directory to assign enterprise-wide
policies, LDAP protocol allows doc-link administrators to
automate the creation of doc-link users and to enforce password
changes.
Release 2.5 is available for all integrated
accounting solutions including Epicor Software, Microsoft Dynamics,
Sage Software and SAP Business One.
